Cimbali turns up the pressure at Hotelympia!

25 April, 2014

La Cimbali, the world’s largest coffee machine manufacturer is revealing new PGS enhanced superautomatic machines at Hotelympia, underlining the company’s commitment to helping non specialist coffee operators keep pace with increasingly demanding coffee drinkers.

Cimbali’s best selling S39 superautomatic is designed for fast paced environments where quick service and in cup quality are a top priority. Now featuring Cimbali’s integral PGS, the grinder burrs are automatically adjusted through the working day to ensure the quality of the finished drink is maintained across the speciality coffee menu.  “Each shift someone is usually given the job of doing regular ‘espresso checks’ to make sure the coffee tastes as good as it should.  When things get busy this often gets forgotten about.  As a result, over time the quality of the coffee may deteriorate.   Our new S39 PGS offers a failsafe way to deliver coffee to a pre-determined quality without the need for regular checking and adjustments, freeing up staff to concentrate on other areas of the business,” says Matthew Tuffee, UK sales and marketing manager, Cimbali.

Other innovative technologies which ensure consistency through the brewing cycle whilst driving up in cup quality include Cimbali’s patented Turbosteam which allows the hands free heating and frothing of large volumes of milk creating a dense and velvety cream which according to Matt “is like having another pair of hands working the machine, it’s a real benefit at peak times” plus the patented Smart Boiler system which significantly boosts steam and hot water capacity to avoid a drop in output during busy periods.

Cimbali’s Matt Lasek will be on hand to provide practical advice on delivering the speciality coffee menu in an increasingly competitive market.  “Matt is one of a very few to hold the SCAE Professional Barista qualification. This is a new standard that is being followed by many authoritative people in the industry and is something that is not easy to pass. Since joining the company last year, Matt has really helped fine tune our focus on quality of delivery within the operational process through training and developing customer’s staff,” says Matthew.

Matt will host the ‘barista kitchen’ where visitors can experience the award winning PGS in action across Cimbali’s range of traditional espresso machines.  On show: the new and exclusive M34, a mid-price point machine, further details of which to be revealed at the show, plus the award winning M100. “We are encouraging baristas to explore the M100 to see how easily they can enhance the flavour characteristics of a finished drink by using the machine’s integral pressure profiling system to adjust the pressure at any point during the extraction process,” says Matthew.
